Top 5 Home Workouts
1 – Yoga at Home
An increasing number of people are embracing the practice of yoga within the comfort of their homes, and it’s not hard to see why. Home-based yoga offers a myriad of benefits, making it an ever-popular choice for individuals striving for both physical and mental well-being. One of its key advantages is the sheer convenience it offers. Practising yoga at home eliminates the need to commute to a studio, saving valuable time and allowing for flexible scheduling. This convenience is particularly appealing in today’s fast-paced world, where time is a precious commodity.
Yoga requires minimal space, typically just 6 by 6 feet, making it accessible for those with limited room. Additionally, the initial investment is budget-friendly, with basic equipment costs starting at a minimum of £20. This affordability aspect further enhances its appeal. Furthermore, the average yoga session can be as short as 30 minutes, making it manageable even for individuals with busy lifestyles.
2- Pilates
The trend that has gained immense popularity this year, and for good reason, is Pilates. It stands out as one of the best at-home fitness practices, offering a unique blend of physical and mental benefits. Through controlled movements, precise body alignment, and breath awareness, Pilates strengthens the core, improves flexibility, and enhances overall physical fitness. Simultaneously, it fosters mindfulness and relaxation, making it a holistic approach to health that not only fortifies the body but also nurtures the mind.
What makes Pilates even more accessible is its modest space requirement – typically just 6 by 10 feet – allowing individuals to practice in relatively confined spaces. The initial investment is also budget-friendly, with basic equipment costs starting at a minimum of £20. This affordability factor makes Pilates an inclusive choice for a wide range of individuals. Additionally, Pilates sessions are typically designed to last around 60 minutes, providing a comprehensive workout experience. This longer duration allows practitioners to delve deeper into the exercises, enhancing both physical and mental benefits.
3 – Cardio
In today’s fast-paced world, finding time to hit the gym for a cardio workout can be a real challenge. The good news is that you don’t necessarily need a gym membership or fancy equipment to get your heart pumping and improve your cardiovascular health. You could purchase a treadmill for your home for £200 or you could do cardio without any equipment such as jumping jacks, high knees, or following an online dance workout routine which can all significantly enhance your heart health and stamina, all within the compact space of 2 by 6 feet.
Although initial equipment cost for a treadmill starts at around £200, the investment pays off in the long run (if you pardon the pun). With an average exercise time of just 30 minutes, these workouts can be seamlessly integrated into your busy schedule, allowing you to tailor the intensity to your fitness level and progressively challenge yourself.
4 – HIIT
High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) has revolutionized the way we approach fitness, and the best part is that you can experience it at home. HIIT workouts involve maximum effort in short bursts, followed by brief periods of rest or lower-intensity exercises. This style of training not only torches calories but also keeps your metabolism revved up long after the workout is done, promoting efficient fat loss and muscle gain. What’s truly fantastic about HIIT at home is its flexibility. You don’t need a room full of equipment; bodyweight exercises like squats, lunges, push-ups, and burpees can deliver a killer workout. Plus, there are countless online resources, from YouTube videos to fitness apps, guiding you through HIIT routines suitable for various fitness levels. The beauty of doing HIIT at home is that you can tailor the exercises to your space and time constraints, making it accessible for everyone. With just 7 by 7 feet of space and a minimum investment of £30 for basic equipment, you can enjoy a dynamic HIIT session in as little as 30 minutes, empowering you to achieve your fitness goals efficiently and conveniently.
5 – CrossFit
Embracing the CrossFit lifestyle from the comfort of your own home opens the door to a world of fitness opportunities. Renowned for its high-intensity, varied workouts, CrossFit can seamlessly adapt to any home environment. With a focus on functional movements performed at high intensity, home-based CrossFit incorporates bodyweight exercises, weightlifting, and cardio, ensuring a comprehensive fitness regimen. One of its key advantages is the flexibility it offers. You can craft tailored workouts that align with your specific fitness goals and time constraints, whether you have 10 minutes or an hour to spare. What’s more, the sense of community that defines CrossFit thrives in a home setting. Online forums, social media groups, and virtual classes enable you to connect with fellow enthusiasts, share experiences, and stay motivated, fostering a supportive network right from your living room. Requiring just 8 by 10 feet of space and a minimum investment of £50 for basic equipment, you can engage in an invigorating CrossFit session lasting 60 minutes, empowering you to pursue your fitness journey comprehensively and conveniently.
Overall, embracing at-home workouts isn’t just a nod to convenience; it’s a nod to self-care, to the understanding that our well-being matters and deserves our time and attention. It’s a promise we make to ourselves – a promise of a healthier, fitter, and more vibrant tomorrow, all from the comfort of our own homes.
Methodology
We began by making a list of the most popular workouts from home and using SEMrush Keyword overview we compared their search volumes. For reviewing hashtags, for these specific trends on TikTok and noted how many views each workout had, the cost of equipment for each workout, space required, and average time needed for exercise- before ranking each trend accordingly based on the number of hashtag views. We then gave each workout a fabulous score to rank each at-home workout accordingly.
All data was collected on 4th August 2023. Some popular brands were removed from the ranking due to not having a TikTok account. In addition to this, some skincare brands didn’t have a general account and therefore, the data for their UK or European TikTok account was used instead.
