Material and colour options for bay window shutters
You may be surprised to learn that different shutter materials bring about a remarkably different look to shutters in a bay window. When we listen to the needs of our customers at appointments, we tend to get them thinking about whether they’d prefer smooth or grained shutters, and the material choice is then simple.
Smooth shutters from our Classic Poplar range are very smooth to the touch. They tend to be painted shutters, great for bringing elegance and softness to a living room or bedroom with a bay window in it. For a sophisticated look, or if your interior design is more contemporary, smooth materials are the route to take.
Grained shutters on the other hand, like our Premium Elm range, have a deep, sweeping richness to them that accentuates the grain of the wood. To touch them they are subtly rustic and exude character. For all out charm, opt for grained shutters in a wood stain like Walnut or Mahogany. For a softer look and a less accentuated grain, choose to have them painted.
With a variety of standard paint finishes in neutral colours, whites, creams and greys as well as a large spectrum of wooden stains, we also offer custom colour shutters meaning you can colour match your bay window shutters to almost any high street paint colour and make your interior decoration truly sing.
