Material and colour options for bay window shutters
You may be surprised to learn that different shutter materials bring about a remarkably different look to shutters in a bay window. Smooth shutters from our Classic Poplar range are very smooth to the touch. They tend to be painted shutters, great for bringing elegance and softness to a living room or bedroom with a bay window in it. For a sophisticated look, or if your interior design is more contemporary, smooth materials are the route to take.
Grained shutters on the other hand, like our Premium Elm range, have a deep, sweeping richness to them that accentuates the grain of the wood. To touch them they are subtly rustic and exude character. For all out charm, opt for grained shutters in a wood stain like Walnut or Mahogany. For a softer look and a less accentuated grain, choose to have them painted.
